Kennedy Island, Solomons
Kennedy Island was named after John F. Kennedy when he was marooned there after the sinking of his warship in World War II. The uninhabited island lies 15 minutes away from the capital of the Western Province, Gizo. Snorkeling equipment is available from the Gizo hotel and day trips are regularly arranged.
